To continue to work hard and be the best athlete I can be both on and off the track.

Sophie is a twin to Ben and comes from a family who all love sport. Her grandfather played for Aston Villa and then was a football correspondent with the BBC for some 40 years.

She attended primary school with her brothers and then an all girls secondary school before leaving to go to Brooksby Agricultural College in Melton Mowbray where she studied animal and equine management.

Sophie was inspired after watching the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. She was encouraged by her older brother Jamie to attended a taster day at Loughborough University, and by October 2012, having had her trial, she joined a sprint group coached by Joe McDonnell at Charnwood AC and began training. She was 15 at the time. The following year, she was chosen to represent her country at the IPC World Championships in Lyon in 2013. Just 16 and running from a standing start, she became world champion and world record holder in the T38 100m, gaining a silver medal in the 200m. She gained acceptance onto the World Class Performance Programme where she has remained for the past 7 years.

She currently attends Loughborough College where she studies Sport and Leisure.
